About the 2018 awards

The Lord Mayor’s Photographic Awards (LMPA) is an opportunity for you to become involved in Brisbane’s cultural life by capturing moments that reflect our expressive, enthusiastic and energetic city.

In 2018, residents, students and emerging photographers have the opportunity to submit their original images of Brisbane’s unique characteristics, hidden gems and local features.

There are three categories that you can enter.

  • Open category
  • Student category
  • Social Media Hashtag category.

There are six cash prizes awarded to winners.

  • Open category - $5000
  • Open category first runner-up - $2000
  • Open category second runner-up - $1000
  • Student category - $3000
  • People’s Choice Award - $2000
  • Social media winner - $1000.
